Mid-Season Recap

Posted Aug 3, 2017 by David

When the schedules came out last winter both teams looked at the end of July as the halfway point for 2017 racing season. Over the last several weeks both teams have got plenty of traveling in. From Western Ohio to compete at the famed Eldora Speedway to north of the border to Autodrome Drummond and Autodrome Granby, the season has hit the halfway point. Both Bicknell Racing Products, Penske Racing Shocks, LJL Kevlar powered machines have been consistent and fast!

It has turned out to be a great year thus far for the 2017 campaign for both drivers as both Pat and Larry have been a top 5 car each night. Over the last couple of weeks, a light switch has turned on for the 42P and the cars have been a rocket. Pat picked up his first win of the season on July 16th, the Sunday before the team headed to Eldora at Utica Rome, then followed that up with a second-place finish for the Super Dirt Car series race at Eldora. Pat also finished out the Ohio swing with another top 5 finish at Sharon Speedway. After weekly competition at Fulton and Brewerton, Pat traveled north of the border when he picked up his second, 2nd place finish in a week at the Autodrome Granby Speedway. Pat currently sits 4th in the Super Dirt Car Point standings, 5th at Brewerton, 4th at Fulton, and 2nd in Points at Utica-Rome!

Larry has been hot so far in 2017, adding 10 wins to his career total so far (9 Modified/1 Sprint Car). On the Super Dirt Car Series, Larry has had 1 win which came at the Airborne Park Speedway on July 6th, 7 top 5’s and 11 top 10’s in the series 12 events. Larry has also recorded 3 wins at Brewerton, 4 wins at Fulton, and 1 win at Utica Rome this season in the modified, while his lone sprint car win came at the Canandaigua Speedway back on June 29th. Larry Currently sits second in Super Dirt Car standings 2 points behind the leader, while he sits atop of the point standings at both Brewerton and Fulton.

Although we are half way through the 2017 season, the schedule doesn’t slow down. Next race for both teams will be Friday and Saturday at the Brewerton and Fulton Speedways. Pat will be at Utica-Rome Speedway Sunday (Family Autograph Night). The team will again head north of the border on Monday to Merrittville Speedway for race number 13 for the Super Dirt car series and then will be at Ransomville on Tuesday. Larry's next 360 Sprint Car race looks to be August 13th at Weedsport Speedway.

Teams are geared up and refreshed after the week off this week and hope to finish the season strong as the last half of the season approaches. Special thanks to our sponsors:
