About Pat


Is one of the most prominent Canadian Modified Drivers and has won 4 Mr. Dirt Small block Championships. Nobody has won as many Mr. Dirt Small block Championships as Pat has. Pat has been around racing all of his life. He helped his father, Pat Sr., with his modified when he was younger. After hanging around the pits with his dad and guys like Hugh Naylor, Pat caught the racing bug. He started in 1985 with a home built small block modified and raced at Brockville, Cornwall, Can Am, and Brighton Speedway. In his 21 year career, Pat has amassed 144 small block wins, 17 big block wins, an d numerous track championships at various tracks. Below is a timeline of 'Flyin' Pat O'Brien's racing career.

History


Raced the Gypsum Logistics Bicknell big block at Can Am Speedway. Raced the Gypsum Logistics Bicknell small block at Thunder Alley. Won the track championship at Thunder Alley. Finished 3rd in big block points at Can Am Speedway. Ran the Mr. Dirt small block series and finished 2nd overall.


2005 - Raced at Can Am Speedway in the Gypsum Logistics Bicknell big block and raced at Brockville Speedway in the Gypsum Logistics small block. Won both track championships.


2004 - Raced at Can Am & Brockville Speedway in the Gypsum Logistics Bicknell big block and won the track championship at Can Am.


2003 - Raced at Can Am Speedway in the Gypsum Logistics Troyer big block and switched to a Bicknell car 1/2 way through the season.


2001 & 2002 - Quit racing due to rising costs and wanted to raise his family.


1998 - 2000 - Drove Troyer for himself at Can Am and ran some Mr. Dirt series races.


1997 - Drove Troyer for Sheldon Legue at Cornwall Speedway and won the track championship. Drove his own Troyer at Can Am and Brockville and won both Track Championships.


1988 - Drove for Sheldon Legue in the Stan's Autobody small block Troyer. Won 18 features, 2 track championships (Can Am & Cornwall), won his first Mr. Dirt Small block Championship.


1987 - First career win at Can Am on opening night.


1985 & 1986 - Raced Can Am, Brockville, Cornwall, and Brighton Speedway in a home built small block modified.
