Gypsum Express Race Team Heads Back North To Get Ready For 2010 Season

Posted Feb 15, 2010 by David

BARBERVILLE, FLA – SATURDAY FEBRUARY 13,2010 – (By Dave Medler) - The final night of racing in Florida is now in the books, as the Gypsum Race Team makes the long haul back north to New York to get ready for the Northeast race season.

On the Modified side for Gypsum Express, the final night was a mixed bag. All three teams made the 50-lap feature. Billy Decker (Gypsum Wholesalers No.91) ran towards the front bringing home a 5th place finish. Larry Wight (Gypsum Express No.99L) got more valuable seat time finishing twelfth. Pat Ward (Gypsum Express No.42p) finished 19th in the final rundown.

In the World Of Outlaws Late Model Series Tim Fuller (Gypsum Express No.19) finished 21st in a stout field that had over 60 cars each night.

The Florida Tour always serves as a good tune-up to see where the team is, what works and what needs improving before the weekly tracks and tours shifts into high-gear.

The next two big races will be here before you know it. The Race Of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour will have a two-day show Friday March 19th and Saturday March 20th at Selinsgrove Speedway in Pennsylvania. Then on Saturday March 27th the Modifieds will make the drive to Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland for a Modified Super DIRTcar series race.

On the World Of Outlaws Late Model schedule for Tim Fuller is back to back shows down south. On Friday March 19th they will be at Ocala Speedway in Florida. The next night the series moves across state lines into Georgia for a show at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania.

Keep checking back for team news as we inch closer to the 2010 season here in the Northeast.
