Long Night For Gypsum Racing Thursday At Volusia Speedway Park. Friday Night Rained Out

BARBERVILLE, FLA - FRIDAY FEBRUARY 12th 2010 (BY Dave Medler) - Thursday night at the Volusia Speedway Park was a rough one for the Gypsum Racing Team. Pat Ward (Gypsum Express No.42p) won his heat race but suffered mechanical issues forcing him to a backup car for the feature. In the feature Ward didn’t have the run he wanted finishing 26th after getting caught up in a viscous flip that involved Jeff Brownell.
Billy Decker (Gypsum Wholesalers No.91) was having strong run at the front of the pack leading some laps before he suddenly slowed forcing him pit-side.
Larry Wight (Gypsum Express No.91L) for the second night just missed making the main event.
Tim Fuller (Gypsum Express No.19) finished 14th in the opening night for the World Of Outlaws Late Model Series.
With all night rain that continued throughout the day forced Volusia Speedway Park officials to call the nights racing. Saturday night will be the grand finale for both the Modifieds and Late Models. Saturday night on tap will be twin 50 lap features.
Hopefully the racing gremlins will be out of the way as the Gypsum Race Team gets ready for racing to start back north.
