BARBERVILLE, FLA – FEBRUARY 10 (By Dave Medler) - Wednesday night was the opening night at the Volusia Speedway Park for the Modified Super DIRTcar Series. From all reports the track was locked down on the bottom making passing tough.
In the 30-lap main Pat Ward (Gypsum Express No.42p) had a flat in the main that sent him to the pits. Ward came back through the field for an 11th place finish. Billy Decker (Gypsum Wholesalers No.91) won one of the consolation events and finished 12th in the feature. Larry Wight (Gypsum Express No.99L) came up one spot short in the consi from making the 30-lap feature.
Also on the card were the DIRTcar UMP Late Models as they ran a 30-lap feature. When the checkers flew Tim Fuller (Gypsum Express No.19) finished in the 10th position.
Tonight, Thursday February 11th the Modifieds will be back in action along with the opening round of the World Of Outlaws Late Model Series.
