FULLER POCKETS $35,000 FOR HIS FOURTH PLACE WoO LATE MODEL POINTS FINISH. MIKE "SMOKE" COUNTRYMAN NAMED CREW CHIEF OF THE YEAR

Posted Nov 12, 2009 by David

PHOENIX, NY NOVEMBER 12, 2009 BY DAVE MEDLER – Tim Fuller (Gypsum Express No.19) collected $35,000 this past Saturday night at the World Of Outlaws Late Model banquet in Charlotte, NC. Fuller finished fourth in the final points run down. During the season Fuller collected 7 Feature Wins and $137,150.00 in earnings.

Also making a trip to the podium was Fuller’s crew chief Mike “Smoke” Countryman. Countryman was voted Integra Shocks Crew Chief Of the year that was voted on by other World Of Outlaws Late Model Series Crew Chiefs and World Of Outlaws Officials. Integra Rep Brian Daugherty presented Countryman with a wrench shaped trophy and a $1,000 check.

One thing you can always count on no matter what team fly John Wight’s Gypsum Express name is willingness to help other race teams. Tim Fuller and his team is no different. Saturday night Russell King out of Ohio collected Rookie of the Year Honors.

While collecting his award King was quoted as saying, “This is definitely a career moment,” said King, who was joined at the banquet by his parents/car owners Rex Sr. and Sis. “I have to thank Josh (Richards), Mark (Richards) and Steve (Baker) for helping me out as much as they could, along with guys like Fuller, ‘Smoke' (Fuller's chief mechanic Mike Countryman) and Chub. I don't know for what reason, but those guys kinda took me under their wing and it means a lot to me.”

After a short time to enjoy successful 2009, Fuller and the team will be back at work preparing for the 2010 season. The season will kick off in early February at Volusia Speedway Park in Florida
